Dr. Randelle Sasa is the Chairperson and Associate Professor of Nursing at the College of Staten Island, City University of New York (CUNY). His research interests include health disparities among Asian American and Pacific Islanders, Filipino caring attributes, men in nursing, high impact educational practices (HIPs), and topics in medical surgical and critical care nursing. Dr. Sasa has 20+ years of experience as a nurse in various capacities— staff nurse, clinical educator, research nurse, professor, and nursing program administrator. He recently received the 2024 Gene Tranbarger Research Award from the American Association for Men in Nursing for the journal article "Male Nurse: A Concept Analysis" (Sasa, 2019) and the 2023 Elsevier Educator of the Year by the Organization of Associate Degree Nursing (OADN), among other professional accolades.
